Jessica West, CPT, USAT 1, USAC 3, USA Swim
Jessica grew up in Connecticut, but her thirst for adventure and love of the outdoors brought her to CU Boulder in 2009. During her time at CU, where she studied Journalism, Jessica competed on the CU Triathlon team and earned her professional license when she won Collegiate Nationals as a freshman. After graduation, Jessica traveled all over the world to pursue her career as a professional triathlete, with highlights including a World Cup podium and qualifying for the US National Team from 2014-2016.
During a year off from competition in 2017, she began coaching swimming and running at her high school in Connecticut and fell in love with guiding athletes. Although she returned to competition for the 2018 season, she ultimately decided to retire from her own athletic career to focus solely on developing as a coach in 2019.
Jessica is very focused on helping endurance athletes add strength training into their training programs. Having experienced excellent results from focusing on clean and efficient movements patterns, Jessica wants to help you supplement your training with proven strength tactics.
For fun, Jessica runs with a local group, Boulder Underground, and has a personal goal of qualifying for the Olympic Trials in the marathon in 2024. You can find her out on the trails coaching athletes, hiking, running, and adventuring with her boxer, Lola!
